With this contemporary addition on a simple, 80’s-style, modular home, the goal was to create a larger, brighter, and more modern living space that wouldn’t look totally out of place. We kept the same roof angles, used similar building proportions, and installed new oak flooring made to match the existing wood floors. We salvaged the old wood cabinets, which were sanded and painted a bright aqua.
Built atop an insulated slab on grade foundation and with radiant underfloor heating, the whole space stays warm and cozy to our clients’ delight.
To bring more natural light into the space we added panoramic and gable windows throughout the home as well as skylights in the bathroom and kitchen.
