  • We are currently seeking a full-time Project Architect with 7-10 years of previous residential design management experience. This position will lead projects, report to the studio leadership, and manage intermediate and junior designers.

    Candidates should have high level modeling and rendering skills and know both AutoCAD and Revit.

    The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with the ability to lead the design team and clients through a project from "Hello" to "Welcome Home".

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -Managing high end residential projects

    -Understanding clients' needs and the needs of the people using the building,

    -Developing design concepts in consultation with the client and establishing final briefs

    -Developing and managing all phases of the design/documentation process

    -Producing client presentations

    -Developing, modeling, and rendering design concepts

    -Mentor and train junior project team members

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    -Professional Degree (B. Arch or M. Arch, or appropriate trade degree with sufficient work experience)

    -Minimum of 7 years’ architectural design experience (should be able to showcase finished/built work)

    -Architectural License

    -Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and all Adobe programs

    -3D Modeling and Rendering skills

    -Certification as a Passive House Consultant or strong green building background a plus

    -Talented, self-motivated designer with excellent team skills

  • Claverack Builders Inc. (Ghent, NY) seeks Architectural Designer to prepare architectural designs and structural drawings using computer-aided design tools.

    Create three-dimensional and interactive representations (renders) of designs using computer-assisted design software.

    Design and plan residential structures in accordance with environmental, safety, or other regulations.

    Plan layouts of structural architectural projects. Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, and estimated costs.

    Meet with clients to review or discuss architectural drawings.

    Consult with clients to determine functional or spatial requirements of structures.

    Design environmentally sound structural upgrades to existing buildings, with sound natural lighting systems, proper sound insulations, HVAC planning and others.

    Develop final construction plans that include aesthetic representations of the structure or details for its construction.

    Travel to various unanticipated locations in the U.S. to interact with clients and conduct on-site observations of construction work.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and 6 months of Architect/Architectural Designer experience, which must include experience with computer aided design CAD software (Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, Trimble Sketchup Pro), desktop publishing software (Adobe Photoshop), and animation and rendering (Lumion, V-Ray in Sketchup).
